Housing Choices Australia has opened 65 new social and affordable homes at Queens Walk, Hobart, now Tasmania’s largest social housing project. Delivered with Homes Tasmania, the redevelopment brings the site to 149 modern homes, already welcoming residents like Julie, who says she “finally feels at home.”

City West Housing recently celebrated a major milestone as Tallowwood Apartments reached its highest point. This marks its first affordable housing development outside the City of Sydney.

Set for completion in mid-2026, the 11-storey mixed-use development is in the heart of Rockdale town centre, close to transport and local amenities.

The opening of The Curwen represents a significant milestone for BHC and partners, delivering 92 thoughtfully designed homes for low-income Queenslanders. Developed by the BHC–QIC Consortium, the project brings together government, institutional investors and Housing Australia support to increase access to secure, high-quality housing.

Dandenong in Southeastern Melbourne has the highest level of homelessness in Victoria, but it’s ranked 23rd for available social and affordable housing. Launch Housing and Homes Victoria have announced they’ll develop over 150 brand-new homes in Dandenong – an important project providing affordable social homes to those who need them most.

Swift Walk, a major Build-to-Rent development in Kensington, has officially opened, delivering 362 new homes including 272 affordable and social homes. Delivered by Assemble, Housing Choices Australia and HESTA, the project showcases a new partnership model scaling high-quality housing for people on lower and middle incomes.

Housing Trust celebrated the topping out of 27 new homes at Warruya. This milestone shows how true collaboration with all levels of government, strong partnerships and shared purpose can deliver affordable and social housing for local communities, creating opportunities and security where it’s needed most.

Construction is now underway on New Generation Catherine House, a $36 million partnership project delivering 52 new apartments and a dedicated Women’s Centre supporting women experiencing homelessness, family violence and trauma. The development is led by Housing Choices Australia and Catherine House, with completion expected in early 2027.

Fernleigh Apartments by Pacific Link Housing has been named Best Affordable Housing Development at the national 2025 Property Council of Australia awards. The Belmont project demonstrates how community housing providers can deliver well‑designed, sustainable and affordable rental housing on small sites through strong partnerships and planning.

Link Wentworth has welcomed around 100 residents into 70 new social housing apartments at Waterloo Metro Quarter, a key milestone in the Waterloo South Renewal Project. Partnering with Birribee Housing, City West Housing, Stockland, and the NSW Government, Link Wentworth continues its mission to deliver safe, affordable homes and vibrant communities across Sydney.

YWCA Australia has officially opened a $2.6 million community housing development in Wodonga, delivering six safe, secure homes for women. Built with Cavalier Homes in partnership with Homes Victoria under the Big Housing Build, these are the first of several YWCA-led projects expanding housing supply across Albury-Wodonga.
