CHIA and now ACH in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) have developed a toolkit and standard for community housing organisations tailored to the needs of veterans experiencing homelessness. It is increasingly recognised that veterans have specific housing needs and that many factors contribute to this.

These resources have been developed in consultation with housing providers, the veteran community and DVA to address the issue of homelessness and also increase the networks of support that Australian veterans can access.

These resources are open to all community housing organisations.

Please complete the short registration form below to access these resources, which are provided free of charge to community housing organisations. Your details will be held by ACH for internal purposes only and not shared. We may contact you for feedback on the resources and to provide any updates to materials.

Update: CSAG and CoP

The veterans’ housing project has the dual objectives of strengthening the community housing response to veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and, achieving better housing outcomes for veterans.

The project will focus on promoting and supporting the adoption of these resources by hosting seminars, the development of a training package and the establishment of a community of practice to enable the exchange of ideas and encourage best practice examples to support veterans.

The project is overseen by a cross sector advisory group (CSAG) chaired by Dr Michael Fotheringham, Managing Director at AHURI. A community of practice has also been established.
