Australian Community Housing (ACH) is the national peak body formed through the merger of CHIA National and PowerHousing Australia. As the unified voice for not-for-profit community housing providers. ACH strengthens the sector’s national influence, supports member capability, and advances the recognition of housing as essential social and economic infrastructure.

ACH offers three membership categories to reflect the diversity of providers across the sector. These categories are based on portfolio size: under 400 tenancies (Category A), 400-1200 (Category B) and over 1200 tenancies (Category C).

Membership criteria for a CHP includes registration under an Australian community housing regulatory regime (eg NRSCH, Victorian Registrar) and with the ACNC. ACH offers a range of member resources, including sector news, updates and general operational resources.

Member events for medium sized and larger CHPs include CEO and CFO roundtables, communities of practice and networks across a range of areas including Development & Assets, Operations, Chairs and NEDs, as well as broader offerings across Disability Housing, Veterans and Climate work.
