Andrew has 33 years’ experience in the community housing sector across the UK and Australia as an Executive or Director, including 17 years as a CEO. He was worked in a range of sectors including disability, aged care, human services, youth and community development.

In his current role, Andrew has overseen the growth of the social/affordable housing portfolio, taking the company from a large Tier 2 provider to Tier 1. He has secured a development pipeline and acquisition strategy for 400 homes over the next 2.5 years across 15 different sites. He has secured both State HIF funding as well as HAFF funding and assisted in securing capital investment for two medium density sites totalling 42 new dwellings for first nations people, in partnership with Kabi Kabi Aboriginal Corporation.

Andrew was instrumental in setting up Queensland’s first social enterprise real estate entity and remains its Managing Director. He has also established innovative programs for women and children impacted by Domestic and Family Violence, constructing crisis and transitional houses across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay. He has assisted in the creation of Better Together Housing (BTH) program that offers advice guidance and support to older women facing homelessness. Previous work as Director of CHP’s saw Andrew involved in the creation of a Youth Foyers, DFV shelters as well as specialist disability housing projects in Australia.

Andrew is the vice chair of CHIA Queensland and a Director of CHIA national since 2018. Over the last two years he has also been branch member for the UDIA on the Sunshine Coast. Andrew’s vision is to create a strong and effective joint peak body for the whole of Australia.
